Pleased to hear your wife is well and it is a shock when it happens
Can vouch for the effectiveness of motorcycle jackets and helmets I went down when braking to hard at 30-40 MPH and the road surface ripped right through my armored jacket to give me arm and elbow cuts and stitches...and the helmet bounced along but kept my head safe as i tried to do an imitation of superman! The force o hitting the road ripped of my wrist watch and demolished it and saved my hands from even more serious rips( i wasnt wearing gloves as i had my hands in handlebar mitts...but another lesson learnt)
Next time though i will also wear more tougher trousers as the road surface ripped right through leggings and ordinary trousers to leave some nasty grazes on knees and side of my hips!

I hope the happy memories of your trip up to then helps to ally the events of the accident!

I looked at the bill from when the stems were replaced they only cost 95 cents :!:
we ordered some 85 degree stems from Kurvy Girl, they are kind of expensive but they
look much better made and are alot longer.
On another note the parts are to be delivered today  and hopefully we will have everything back on by tomarrow! :)

Sue, I am glad you are able to post. Heal up before jumping back on the horse.

I tried to start a campaign to get those cheap and in my opinion DEADLY valve stems banned but the NTSB and the Suzuki consumer advocate never responded to my 10 or so letters and emails. It seems that untill someone crashes and takes out a school bus full of kids, their not conserned.

Good luck with the repairs. Like I said above, you and your insurance company sould not have to pay for anything. The Dealers insurance should foot the bills and SOME compensation for pain and suffering, the big word is SOME. I am still tring to finish my settlement from my Dec 2010 crash.

Good to hear no serious injuries.

Always use BOLT in valve stems, 90 deg or otherwise.
