Does anyone have a good method of running a wire from the 12VDC plug in the large AN650 glove box up to the handlebars? I have installed a mount for my iphone (for GPS) and want to run a cord to the power outlet. Before I start pulling things apart, I figured I would ask here. Thanks.

You can get some posi-taps online and some black two conductor cable to run up to it. then just solder the connection from the cable to the iphone mount power cable and seal it in with some heat shrink for neatness.

Basically remove the handle bar covers and upper dash cover then you have access to everything. I used a bit of poly braided sleeving (think chinese finger puzzle) to make the wires for my GPS and satellite radio look better/bundle them together.

if you are going to use the original connection for the aux-power socket, the easiest way would be to use some piggy-back connectors: slide the piggy-back connector over the tabs for the aux-power socket in the glove box, attach the wires for your new device to the piggy backs, install it over the aux-power tabs, attach the OEM harness connectors to the other tabs on the piggy-back connectors and you should be all good.

+1 (This has the added advantage of using the original 10A fuse) Kenp
