I'm thinking of getting an Airhawk cushion for a long ride I have planned coming up. Over here in the UK there's two types of cushion - the original Airhawk which is neoprene and airhawk 2 which is polyurethane. Airhawk 2 is about £80 and the original is double at £160. My question is, has anyone on here tried both and if so, is the original worth paying double for?

I have the original, and it's not bad. I'd suggest checking the warranty of the original vs the Airhawk 2 - the lesser price may come with a reduced warranty and/or life expectancy.
I like the AirHawk, but don't knopw that I'd throw 80ps at it ... have you priced seat customizing instead ? It may be more durable and give a better result.

Me have airhawk 2 rider seat 4 years now, never have problem, have airhawk 2 passenger seat 3 years now, never have problem. Work very good for me.

The Airhawk 2 is not as comfortable on longer trips, is less flexible, only comes in 3 models Vs 5 for original and only has half the warranty. The original is pricey but well worth the extra expense if you do lots of longer rides or have hip problems, like my F.I.L. He has had his for 5 years now and is very satisfied.
