where to go

Postby mikeyMarine » Thu Oct 06, 2011 11:33 11

I was riding to my dentist this morning  and on the way, I was in the thru lane, nice distance in front of me good dry road conditions traffic kind of heavy, moving 50 in a 45 of course with everyone sooooo anxious to get to work (those that have jobs anyway) when less than 20 ft , 1 car length or so , the cages on both outside lanes decided to get in the thru lane at the same time, not seeing each other they were going to meet in the middle and I was going to be a witness if I survived , I couldn't go left, crash in progress, couldn't go right , crash in progress, couldn't go straight , definite crash in progress down or up seemed to be my choices , I can't fly worth spit, and asphalt is hard
so I decided to drive as far into the crash as I could and see what I would see, grabbing a double handful of both binders and hoping the burgie could hold the road I saw brake lights on both vehicles so close I think my front tire was between the two at one point , the pucker factor was so high you couldn't have driven a needle up my butt with a sledgehammer and time seemed to get wierd on me like slow motion or something, the two cars I would swear touched mirrors and then rebounded into their outside lanes horns blowing like judgment day on the fourth of july in a mariachi band school and we were down to about 20 mph and it was over
What a bike !

still had to go to the dang dentist  but I was alive to do it and skin in original condition.
mom won't let me ride

Quite a story, glad you came out of it in one piece. Sometimes you can be doing everything right and still get clobbered.

Not nice to have no where to go. You could have hit the brakes hard only to find the person in your rear on a cell phone. Glad you came out OK.

That is where I am going now is to the dentist.

Great to hear you made it through, sounds like you did what needed to be done.

In the old days we referred to these sorts of riding experiences as "It's a good thing shít sticks to leather." I guess that needs to be updated to "vinyl"...
