Hello All,

Only one more day to go before the NB Scooter Tour! :hello1:

Just wanted to mention a few things:

First the weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, though it may be cooler than usual.
The Temperatures in the Catskill Mountains can vary greatly so I would suggest layering up with some warm clothes. Though there is no rain in the forecast, I would bring rain gear, this could also be used as a wind breaker to keep the cool out and warm in.

Don’t forget to bring your signed waiver form with you. See me (Greg) when you get there as you must initial the sign in form. :evil3:

Hopefully we will not encounter any closed roads due to the recent storms, though we will just reroute if this is the case, as all the roads there are great biking roads.

Remember to bring your bathing suit, as they are keeping the pool open for us!

Check in time at the Days Inn is 3:00 PM, though Margie and I will be there earlier to meet and greet everyone. Look for the white Burgman with the green Gumby riding on the handlebar!

Don’t forget to have a full tank of gas for our Saturday morning departure, I suggest filling up Friday night.

I am looking forward to seeing old friends, making some new ones, and having a great time this weekend. :occasion5:

Robb, we'll be making suggestions Friday and take an informal vote were to go, though your free to go to any one of the various places, there are several within walking distance.

Greg,
Thanks for the information about the Rally and Jim thanks for the weather info.
I do not ride in the mountains very often in the spring and fall so the advice on layers of clothing is helpful.

Jim,
Good to hear that you are thinking ahead about the menu for the possible spring 2012 rally, seafood is either my #1 or #2 favorite depending on where I am eating.
But I have never had a bad hamburger, so most all food is a favorite.

Who do we thank for the great weather?
See everyone friday afternoon.

David,

:sunny: The man above!

Jim, thanks for mentioning the pool is indoors, I missed that on my last post. I don’t think anyone would have brought their bathing suit if you hadn’t mentioned it.

Just an update

As some of you know my Burgman is in the shop once again, Stopped by there today

Last year when the entire CVT unit was changed (@ 25k Mi) the new CVT was supposed to have all the latest upgrades,

Not so!!! After just 6k mi the stopper Bolt sheared, once they got to looking in to it the CVT that had been installed

did not include any upgrades...

Not to worry, I'll be on the ride, and not on a LOUD ASS HD....

Sorry about hthe LOOOOOG link

Sorry to hear that Jim and thanks for letting us know! I bought a replacement bolt and its just been sitting here while I procrastinate installing it. Just the motivation anyone needs to hear!

Richard from Canada also had a sheared bolt after the Iggy Ride. Seems to be a lot of those!

See you in just a few hours!

Burr.... 39 degrees at 11:00 PM and I'm 60 miles south of the Catskills! :happy2:

You’ve been warned, better bring warm clothes.
I’d rather it be a little cool than hot though, I can always layer up.

Forecast is for abundant sunshine throughout the weekend!

Jim,
Nice bike, but then again it is a Suzuki! :thumbleft:

Alright here's an update,

Arrived at the Liberty Days Inn @ 1410 (2:10pm) got checked in and settled in, Greg and Margie arrived about 3pm.

Hung out in the Parking lot greeting riders until about 6pm, then a bunch of us went to the Liberty Diner for a great dinner

and a GOOD time was had by all.

We returned to the Days inn and continued to greet riders.

Greg, Margie, Me, Debbie, David, Lois, Shaun, Jeff, & Bre had a great time in the "Party Room"

So far about 20 riders are here, looks like a great time will be had by ALL

Well Folks the inaugural NBST is in the books and from all accounts it was deemed a sucess..

Again I want to thank Greg for great rides on both Sat and Sun, you sir did a fantastic job,

( just hope I can do as well in the spring..)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to attend and ride with us, David you are one sick "shallow water sailor", :fish:

Lois how do you put up with him, oh I remember you did tell me.

Sean your tech support was a great help, maybe one day I'll

get the time to read the manual on those radios, :D

Jeff it was a long haul for you too, glad the trip was good for you.

Tim. What can I possiblly say to the man, who brought me Screech from Newfoundland, but thank you :occasion5:

You have stirred Memories and Nightmares in my mind from 35 years ago when I lived there, Thanks again my friend

and hope to see you in Oct for the "Chunkin" !

A tip of the hat goes to "Steel Gray", medical problems kept him from riding but he and his family came out and met with the riders

at Sanoma Falls, thank you Frank.

Overall the weekend was great, met many other ride groups along the way and everyone was friendly and enjoying themselves and their groups

on Sunday we did encounter a sole ride who refused to wave back to our group, guess he was just havin a bad day..

A special thanks to Motorpap, Mike and Patty for joining in on Sat night

Again to Everyone who attended, Rich, Mike , Dave, Lois, Rob, Saun , Tim, Vince, Jeff, and everyone whos names I am at a loss for right now,

(Please give me a break, after all I'm almost as old as David and Vince)

Thank You again, I know that Greg is happy that he was able to provide such a good ride for everyone, even with the problems we endured,

he has set the BAR high so I have my work cut out for me to equal his achievment when we all meet this coming spring

for the first "NBST ????????? Ride" :?:

Greetings to all,
Thank you Greg and Jim for doing such a great job planning and organizing the NBST Rally.
Good weather and great rides with good routes and good roads.
Also the Day Inn was an excellent location with all kinds of food within walking distance of the hotel and several gas stations across the street.
A very personable and friendly group of riders and passengers. A hats off to the riders who encountered washed out roads and many detours to get to the rally and to Vince who came in spite of the flu.

Well Chief Jim,
The bar has been set at a very high level so your work is cut out for you. Fortunately you have the entire fall, winter, and next spring to make your plans and implement them. I like your planned rally location because of the sea food (will it be soft shelled crab season?) although bbq would be preferred.Would Ocean City be a good lunch location? If you plan to have a cookout on friday night, I can be available to cook the hamburgs and hot dogs while you entertain the group and carry out your "Host" duties. Call me if you need any ideas for the rally activities and/or events. At my age I have more ideas than any thing else.
Would love to spend more time on this thread as there are many more good things to say about the rally but it is time to do a RTE (ride to eat).

It was great meeting the group. I'm sorry I was not able to go on the ride, but I wanted to meet up at the Cider Mill. It was great seeing more Burgmans in Sullivan County, NY. So far I have seen only 4 in the area. Thank you to all the group members that came from all over to enjoy the Catskills.

I am looking forward to attending other rides in the coming year.

Greg and Jim,

Thanks for the excellent ride on Saturday. My ride back to Pittsburgh was approximately 6 hours and in great cool weather. The inaugural ride was a success. Glad to have been a part of it. I enjoyed seeing some of my old (manner of speech) friends and meeting new ones. My daughter Katie enjoyed hanging out with us on Saturday. I'm off to the MASR rally this coming weekend. Two rallies in two weeks. How can you beat that? Too bad they're not a little closer to home. Looks like I'll be riding in the rain for the MASR. 40% chance on Friday and 30% chance on Saturday and Sunday. At least it won't be a wash out like it has been in the past. Thanks again for everything.

Good seeing everyone again and meeting new people. The ride routes were quite enjoyable and the scenery most excellent. I've got a few pics uploaded to my trip album here from the rides -> http://burgmanusa.com/gallery/TechArtGu ... 2011/nbst/

I recorded the routes on my Garmin's trip log so the routes are available here. Blue route was Saturday's ride, magenta was Sunday's.

Looking forward to attending the next planned location in Virginia! And to those attending MASR this coming weekend I'll see you there. Staying with Greg & Margie the rest of the week here in Vernon, NJ (Thanks guys for the stay, you're awesome! )

Hey Gang

Just wanted to put up a post for Vince..

He wants everyone to know what a great person Sean (Tech Art Guy) is earlier in the week Sean made the trip from Greg and Margies home to Vince's. Last Sat on the Catskills Cruise Vince had a problem with his bike, seemed his headlights would not work, Sean correctly diagnosed the problem as a sticking starter button on Sat. He went to Vince's home and corrected the problem for him..

Sure wish he live close to me....

Well done Sean.....

And from Vince Thank You.....  :D

To All:

I know this is a little late but wanted to thank you all for attending the inaugural, Northern Barnstormers Scooter Tour (NBST) “Catskill Cruise”.

What a great group of people to have for our first tour! :wav:

We had 23 attendees. Riders came from: Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, and our furthest distance rider Sean, from Ohio!

We hope you all had a good time and look forward to seeing everyone on our next tour, which looks as if it will be somewhere along the Virginia “outerbanks”, headquartering somewhere in the scenic Chincoteague Island area.

Jim C. already has a prospective ride route for the area, which he will be pre-riding in the upcoming weeks.

You will receive an Email as soon as more information, lodging, eateries, etc. become available. Also keep an eye out for a posting on the BurgmanUSA “Rallies and Gatherings” forum. viewforum.php?f=13 for more information.

Below is a link to some pictures of the NBST “Catskill Tour” (Thanks! Sean)

If you have any pictures of the "Catskill Tour" you would like to share, email them to me and I will see that they get posted along with the others.

http://burgmanusa.com/gallery/TechArtGu ... 2011/nbst/

We would also like to welcome Sean P. (aka: TechArtGuy, forum moderator on BurgmanUSA.com) to our organizing group!

Sean is well versed in his computer / internet skills. We are certain the NBST will become even more successful with him on our team.

Hope to see all of you, and meeting some new friends in the spring!

Well the old bolt looks pretty good but now you have the peace of mind knowing the new one is in place.

Just an FYI the bill to the warranty company exceeded $4500, the new CVT was $2300 by itself.
