I just paid $99 for shipping a Clearview to Australia and after seeing how well it was packaged I reckon I got a bargain.

Does anyone know if they have a coupon or sale or some way to bring the price down? Currently it is coming out to be like ~300$ for XL with vents...I cannot afford it.
look for blems... they occasionally have them for sale. Or another brand perhaps....

I recently purchased a Clearview medium, tinted, with vent - and with a tiny blemish. The discount for the blem was $41 and the shipping was $31. Seeing how the shield was protected when shipped, I suspect the high shipping fee is due to the size of the box and not due to the weight. I figured the almost invisible blem paid for the shipping and didn't think that was out of line at all. Have you checked on the discounted blemished shields?

Obviously you have never shipped a windshield. I bought a used windshield and the seller shipped it using a UPS store. 3 years ago it cost $50+. It requires a large box, lots of padding, and packed in a way that it can not be crushed.

I just bought a XXL Blem to NC and the shipping charge was $44.00. The size of the box and weight is HUGE so I feel the price was ok.

It is the size of the box that matters here. Garnet is correct. My XXL came in perfect condition, so the money was worth it. Tim

You obviously have not seen the size box it is shipped in. $37 isn't bad. You have to remember that not only are items charged by weight, but also by SIZE....that is, length and girth. If you think it's a rip off then you try to ship something that big for $37. At $37 I BET they have an agreement to get discount shipping from UPS. If you go to ship that same box BACK to them, you'll find out who is ripping off whom. Several years ago, I ordered a grille for my '90 Isuzu from Rock Auto auto parts. The grill was priced very well (around $60) but because of its size, it had to come in a large box. Now, that shipping TO me only added an additional $27.50 to my bill. BUT, as they say, there is MORE to the story: The grille they sent was the wrong grille, based on the part I wanted (there were TWO possible matches, so i chose the one that looked better). It wasn't a fit for my truck. So I called and got an RMA to return it. I went to ship it back and freakin' UPS wanted nearly $90! Oh yea I was hot, so I contacted Rock Auto and 'found' out that they only charged me $25 shipping because THEY have good rates. So based on the length and girth, I was expected to pay nearly $90 to ship back a $60-something part. No way and they were not going to help or budge. So I cut down the box or made a cut down box as much as I could (and FEDEX would not take it), UPS was not going to take it (a kludged box)...so I finally found something that worked that was not much bigger than the grille (and this is a grille that covers most of the front of a '90 Isuzu pickup). Anyways, it still cost me about $60 to send it. $37? Bah! Since then I have not ordered ANYTHING from Rock Auto.

I just tried to order a blemished one - based on the blemish different discounts picked a $196 dollars for my new 650 Exec , $37 wasn't bad - they want to charge me $111 dollars for shipping. Sorry ill go with a ebay givi with free shipping, if its damaged i can order another for the same price

I don't know if John is still using the foam remnants to pack his shields...but...if his is...I am still, six years later, trying to use up all of the foam in nearly 30 other packages that I have shipped The box is big and was nearly 100% foam remnants to protect the shield...I don't recall what his shipping charge was then, but it was well packaged As others have stated...try shipping it yourself...just be near an ER to attend to your heart attack Bill

Based on the shipping price you posted, I'm guessing that you requested second day air which costs over 3 times as much as ground when shipping oversize boxes. Ask what the cost is for UPS Ground.

Just a suggestion for the future...if you're using Internet Explorer, check your settings, under Tools|Options. I'm going by memory here because I don't have IE loaded on this Linux Mint operating system (I can't understand why Microsoft doesn't make a version of IE for Linux...). Anyway, one of the settings for temporary files has four options. The default setting is for IE to decide if the content changed on the website, and load fresh data or go with what was in the cache from the last time the page loaded. The idea is to speed things up. I recommend setting this to the top choice which is something like loading the data each time from the website. That could explain why you saw the exorbitant overnight price when you wanted the cheaper ground shipping. Edit, I found the images on the web at bleepingcomputer.com to explain this better. Select the "Settings" button on the right. Unlike the recommendations on their web page, select the top choice to Check for newer versions of stored pages" on "Every visit to the page". You can read the original tutorial from bleepingcomputer.com at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutoria ... net-files/Chris
