AFX FX-37 Dual Sport Helmet

Postby Scootereno » Fri Mar 18, 2011 20:13 20

I got the email ad from Bike Bandit today and this dual sport AFX helmet caught my eye: http://www.bikebandit.com/afx-fx-37-solid-dual-sport-helmet
I like the full shield for glasses and the visor for shade from the sun. Has anyone tried this or something similar?

I own a number of AFX helmets and like them very much....

I did try the FX-37 on and it felt as good as their other helmets.

the visor has a very slight distortion in it but nothing that noticeable unless you really focus on it.

noise level on this particular helmet is about average.

for the same price, you can buy an FX-50 which is their new 3/4 open face with a built-in visor

Arai and Shoei also offer similar models but at 4-5 times the price...

I just got the FX-50 in the mail today. Seems to be just what I have been wanting but I will give it a while to base an opinion on it. The fit and finish are very nice though! I really like that it has reflectors on the sides and back for low light and rainy riding.

I bought the fx50 and at first loved every feature of the helmet until i wore it for an hr. the way this one is designed the plastic piece over your eyebrows extends past the styrofoam and digs into my forehead. Yes it does have a bit of padding there but not enough after a few hrs of riding. I looked to cut down the plastic but it is sewn to the pad and would ruin the helmet if i did. I even send an email to the manfacture asking why they dont recess that plastic pass the styrofoam and, of course just like most big companys, no response.

Yet the FX-50 (the one I got) Scores very well by them http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/afx-fx-50/
So far I am in agreement with everything they say.
