active topics doesn't work for me

i, since day one book marked the active topics.......today it tells me "unsuitable link" or something like that.....
i see you did some updates and now there is a "new posts" or something, but it still has a link that says "active topics"
that one isn't working either...... just thought you should know.......

i see it says, "no suitible matches" could be i suppose there are no "active topics" just never seen it do that before.....

There was a bug in the last release of the forum software that allowed all the forums to be used for the active topics list even if the feature was set to "no". I'll have to go thru each forum and set the active topic properties so that the active topics can be correctly listed. Honestly, I'm surprised anyone uses that feature other than infrequent visitors so it wasn't a high priority on the list. I'll go ahead and make those changes sometime today.

Bill, as you know I'm not an infrequent visitor and it is my most used feature. I rarely use the index.

If you log in, "View New Posts" allows you to see anything that has been modified or added since your last visit.

Right, but it is different. It'll omit "active topics" that I didn't have time to check the previous visit.

It seems like you continue to get all the "New Posts", even if you've viewed them already or marked them as read. They are just a different color of icon.

I'm guessing there's a time stamp on the cookie that's saved, because there are days when I'll see a couple pages of "read" New Posts", and then the next day, the list is down to only a couple and builds again from there.

You miss a lot with only Active Topics.

'View new posts' displays posts since your last login time and does not take into consideration what you have read. 'View unread posts' will only display threads containing posts you have not read and is independent of the login time. As you read the new posts, it will be updated as long as your webbrowser is not caching the page (F5 will refresh the page).

All active topics have been enabled other than for the forums 'test' and 'Back Alley'.
