Don't rule out other soft luggage, as they all mount pretty much the same way, with straps. The only consideration would be the length of the straps. Make sure the will fit the Burgman, as the seat is wider than most bikes. The GIVI T411's work well for me. Many also choose Nelson Rigg. Cost can vary, but $50-150 is in the ballpark. I paid $100 5 years ago. This may also help Adding Storage

The bags look good. How do you handle gas stops? Flip the left bag up or remove them?

I've never really run into that situation yet where I've had the fuel with the saddlebags on. I generally leave the saddlebags off unless I'm going to need them so usually if I'm going on a mission where I need them I fuel up beforehand. As far as fueling with them on the scooter someone here on the forum, I don't remember who, stated that it's very dangerous for your gas flap to try to fuel with the saddlebag in the air, he laid one on the filler door and broke off the filler door. Mine are held on the bottom by two bungee straps on each one of the corner loops. It wouldn't be that hard to remove the saddlebag over the fuel filler door. They are easy to detach and reattach. All that are holding mine on when I go anywhere are just the two straps that go over the scooter and secure by Velcro, and the two bungee straps that go around the front and the back. They're not as handy to take off as the hard cased sidemounted luggage like the Givi's, but for a fraction of the price I'll put up with a little inconvenience. For what it's worth though if saddlebags were something I used every time I rode my scooter I would look at investing in the hard sided, but being as I only need them for occasional use I'll stick with $100 bags as compared to the $500 plus set up with a hard sided.

i bought my cortech bags at the dealer. i asked if i could try them on a burgman on the floor and they helped. they fit good, as the nelson ones do. it takes about 2 minutes to put them on and take them off. i have used them for thousands of miles with no problems. i have some pictures in the gallery under "larry's burgman". i dont know how to bring them over here. they have not scratched my paint or do they flop around. as far as getting gas, you just lift up the one side and gas up. not a problem..............larry

Thanks for the refuling replys. I plan to do a cross country camping trip and am lookig for ways to ease access to refuling when loaded. Plan on adding a top case. (After I learning how to remove the passenger back rest). But based on other trips I will still need side cases and straped on equiptment.

I bought the set on my 650 from Amazon.com. They were $59.99 and had free shipping. They fit well and don't move at speeds up to 75.

ed i put the regular saddlebags on from cortech. they make a sport one that is smaller. if you look around you might find a good deal on them on amazon or ebay. as far as fueling goes, you just lift up the one side and fuel away. no problem at all................larry
p.s. i got this type becuase they can fit any bike, just about. i have loaned them to some harley buddies and they work good on them too.............

I have the CL-850 bags and used them for a 1500 mile trip last year with no problems. Great bags with a large capacity. I'm thinking of adding a CL-200 on the top, and from what I read, it looks like it should all clip together. Has anybody tried combining the CL-850 with a CL-200 Expandable Touring Tail Bag? CL-200.

Here are some pics of the Nelson-Rigg CL-850 saddle bags on the side, with a Nelson-Rigg CL-200 tail bag on top. The CL-200 buckles into the CL-850 for a neat and secure system. I also found that if I wedged a Nelson-Rigg Survivor SVT-200 inbetween the tail bag and the passenger backest, the whole system fit perfectly, with the tail bag lining up with the driver backrest. This provided a fantastic tall backrest for a long ride. Other pictures showed the CL-850 saddle bag velcro straps being attached underneath the seat. I had trouble getting the seat to close and everything adjusted right if I tried to put the straps under the seat. So instead, I just ran the straps over the passenger grab bars and over the seat. Then I attached the tail bag using the built-in buckle system. I used the built-in front and back buckles on the CL-850 bags and wrapped straps around the back of the bike and around the tunnel. I rode about 800 miles with everything attached this way, including some high-wind areas and bumpy highways, and nothing ever slipped or moved from the original position I set it in. I'll be arranging the bags the same way for the trip home. Another really nice thing was that when I stopped at a hotel for the night, all I had to do was unbuckle the front and back straps, attach shoulder straps to each of the saddle bags, and lift the entire system off the bike in one step, still keeping the tail and saddle bags attached to each other. Loading the bike up again was as easy as just dropping the entire system over the seat and attaching the front and back straps. Altogether it worked great - I was extremely happy with the entire setup and I wouldn't change a thing. SciP

Scip... did you experience any problem with the bags rubbing the paint & causing any damage ?? My concern on my 400, would be the sides of the bags rubbing & maring the paint.
It is well with my soul.
