Changing of the guard @ BurgmanUSA.

Postby Greengoose » Mon May 28, 2012 18:10 18

Admins/Moderators and members of BurgmanUSA and MajestyUSA,

As many of you know, I have been the owner / admin of BurgmanUSA/MajestyUSA since its creation. A few years ago I had ear surgery which took my balance and hearing. I have regained most of my balance back, but not to the point that I wish to be on 2-wheels again. More recently we lost the help of one of our veteran moderators / admin guys, Bill Meek. Since Bill’s departure I have taken on the sole responsibility of server administrator and lead moderator. In addition I will be moving to a new job assignment back stateside, with my wife and 4 young boys, in July.

BurgmanUSA/MajestyUSA deserves to be the best it can be. If I can’t provide the technical leadership and dedicate proper time towards BurgmanUSA’s future vision. Then I needed to find someone who can fill those shoes so that BUSA/MUSA can become even greater than it already is. The last thing I want is for BurgmanUSA/ MajestyUSA to slip into disrepair. I sought the best help I could find. In my search I found a group of people who represent the very best names in the industry. They are considered the cream of the crop in the business and they know what they are doing.

It is my pleasure to introduce their lead community manager, Dwayn.

Dwayn belongs to the Motorcycle.com group who has acquired both BurgmanUSA and MajestyUSA

I will be working side by side with Dwayn showing him the inside ropes of our fantastic community.

I am very confident in their ability to keep BurgmanUSA's community as sound and safe as it ever was.

Dwayn and the group at Motorcycle.com look forward to seeing the community and members grow and look forward to the future of the site.

Sincerely,
Greengoose / Bryan McFalls

Thanks Bryan for all you've done to set up this great community! Welcome Dwayn. There is a great group of folks here.

PS; Bryan, I hope your balance issues clear up, I have had similar problems myself from radiation treatments and then a concussion on top of that. Good luck!

Bryan,
I only recently purchased a Burgman 400 and joined this great new community. I thank you for a very friendly and informative forum that has been a huge help to this new Burgman owner and many others. I would also like to thank you for the care and concern you are taking to leave it in good hands so that the tradition will continue. You have set the bar very high. I will be praying for continued improvement in your health. God bless - Bill

Is it safe to assume that the footer tag on the home page will be modified?

BurgmanUSA is solely supported by donations from its members. BurgmanUSA does NOT use advertisements for revenue.

I have no problem with ads...never could figure out Bryan's aversion to them...every other motorcycle board I frequent has them...some are even useful

This board is the best...friendly, courteous, informative, civil, and family friendly...Bill Meeks and the current Mods work tirelessly for their big paychecks

Unlike many of the other motorcycle boards out there, BUSA will not tolerate the "flamers" and douche bags...I like that

Dwayn, I wish you well in your company's venture to improve and unlock the potential of this board and Bryan thanks for the memories

Welcome Dwane

Not wishing to hijack the thread - but im still awaiting my lifetime membership tag - Other may be too, so before any signficant changes happen relative to memberhsip levels please lets make sure they are accurate

For example one site i visit reduces the ads for paying members, but without that filter the site can be slow - especially as people quote others with ads in the message - ten you get the add twice

This site has been worth every penny - and long may it be so !

Sorry, just can not stop myself

Since the median age of our members is "up there"...will the ads be more riding, gear, bikes etc...or will we be flooded with "boner pills" and AARP type ads?

Sorry...just my warped sense of humor

Bryan,

Thanks for the assembling the most valuable Burgman website EVER! My riding experience has been greatly enhanced because of the folks here and the wealth of information I have found by using the SEARCH box(yes, there is one here), PM's to the experts, and great camaraderie as evidenced by the **REST STOP** notations. That speaks volumes.

Dwayn-you've got some rider's boots to fill here. I'm hoping that Bryan handed the torch off the right folks.

Here's to many more miles of Burgman grins. (I'm not a poet).

Thank you everyone for the kind words of support. I will miss everyone dearly. Some of you remember the birth of 2 of my boys, my deployments, my relocation to Germany, and my unfortunate hospital visits.
I will be starting a new chapter in my life moving back to the states in Southern CA. My boys (11,9,8 and 6) have spent the last 5+ years in German School. They are the ones who will have the most adjusting to do. Ive got 3 days left in Africa. My replacement will be here in 4 hours. I wont miss the 115+ degrees with 85%+ humidity.

If anyone has any questions or feel they have been overlooked with memberships or whatever. Please email me @ greengooseman@yahoo.com
