Older thread, however a worthwhile discussion:

We (SWMBO and I) have not bought a new vehicle in 30+ years--get 'em used, 2-3 years old with "lowish" mileage. Look for clean and no signs of UV damage to paint/plastics/headlamp housings/etc. Not "dealer cleaned" but signs that the previous owner kept them clean and garaged; that will indicate the PO's attitude toward maintenance. I got my always garaged '03 400 for $1800 with 12.3k miles last May, and a stack of receipts from the shop that maintained it--it now has 21k miles and runs "like a top".

Let the sap that bought it new be the one to eat the initial depreciation...

I live in South Central Florida.
Anyone of BUSA in the Florida area have a 2011 or 2012 Burgman650 Exec you'd like to sell for a BUSA price?
Yea, I have a Spyder, but I do miss my Burgman650 Exec and wish I had kept it.
Ride like you're invisible...because to most cagers, you are!

2011 Can Am Spyder RT A/C SM5
2009 Burgman650 Exec (Traded for the Spyder)
2005 Burgman650 w/22,215 miles (Sold @ 23000+ Miles)
Strange, but true...I often put more miles on my bicycle every Mo/Yr then on the motorcycles.

I haven't traded in a vehicle since 1984, the dealers are not going to give you anything close to what they are worth. Look at NADA, they list trade in value and retail value. There is usually a big difference. Selling it yourself is easy now with Craigslist and ebay. JC
