E529 mounting plate

Postby Marv » Wed Jul 11, 2012 9:29 09

When mounting the E529 mounting plate on a new 2012 Burgman 650 you have to remove the passenger backrest. Are the mounting holes the same pattern for the V46 top box as the backrest?

BTW: This was the draft I was trying to find!
Thanks for helping me find it.

I'm not quite sure I've got you right but I have the same setup - V46 and a E529 mounting plate.

You remove the backrest, then using the supplied bolts and spacers, the metal bracket bolts on using the same backrest mounting points/threads. Then the plastic plate bolts to the metal bracket. The V46 then fits onto the plastic plate.

That's what I wanted to verify. I'm trading in my 2009 650 without my V46 box and installing it on a new 2012 Burgman and just wondered whether the hole pattern was the same. It was nice of Suzuki to mark the underside of the top Tupperware to show where to punch the holes in the older bike considering the bxes were made clear across the world by another company.

My 400 has the locations for hole drilling marked, on the plastic body piece.
I couldn't see drilling holes there, my neighbor gave me a top box and I just removed the plastic body piece. You can't see it anyway.
It just seems that once you drill, it's ruined forever.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.
