Color combinations and Speed Blocks on Burgmans?

Postby sharing_s_caring » Wed Oct 15, 2008 10:06 10

I've got the '06 400 Silver/grey Burgman

Suggestions for color, already know that I want reflective black pinstriping for outline edge on tupperware next to the black on seating. Or should I just use the speed blocks more or less in that area? Should I go for Gold even? I don't think Streetglo offers a silver.

The ole Silver Hulk is just stock, so what do you think would be good based on your observations on other bikes?

Thanks for any advise!

Here is my Gallery Link, before I had my Gray Burgy 400 painted Yellow last year. I used the StreetGlo Helmet Speed Stripes Kit on both my Helmet and my Burgy (I used the Yellow Kit for the Gray, and the Super Black Kit for the Yellow). Check out the pics, and hopefully it'll give you some ideas. I have some Speed Blocks on the side of the Black Body under the seat, but made my own from the rest of the Speed Stripe Kit for the Yellow Burgy.

Best of Luck!

I'm thinking pinstriping in gold or red. I don't bother with black. It's not reflective enough to suit me.
A good color combination might be 1/4 inch white pinstriping with 1/10 inch yellow borders. The Sizzle strips might also suit your needs.

Just a note, and it may be to late, but the "white" is more a silver color. It's what i used on my Pearl White 650.

DJ!

It cost me $650 for the paint job (Dupont Premier Auto Paint) which was done by an Auto Body Shop. Also, the Dealer charged me $350 to remove all 13 pieces of Tupperware, and reassemble it.

What color are you looking at getting yours painted?

Cheers!

Yes, does look good. I have toyed with doing something similar, but over here it could drop the value of the bike or even make it un-resellable. You see we can have the Burgman in any colour so long as it is grey! If it had a makeover then the general consensus would be that the bike was a rebuild etc. :(
My colour choice would be white.

I LOVE the yellow '07 Burgman. Talk about visible!
High viz makes me puke- this yellow I dig. I have a yellow helmet that's more the transformers movie "bumblebee" shade (darker yellow of sorts- almost city taxi colored LOL) Actually- smiley colored  Do a base like you did and add some more black reflective tape like you did...

Consider me inspired.

I got blue or my gray bugman since I thought it would go well with the blue flake in the paint. Not sure if ill put any on my hi vis yellow helmet. It might help or covering the hi vis paint might hurt visibility any thoughts on that? I got the helmet stripe kit from streetglo and a 1/4 and 1/2 pinstripe tape. All in blue.

I may bewrng but I thought I read somewhere blue stands out or gets noticed more than other colors also.
