2008 Executive in Austin TX $5000 OBO

Postby polunsky » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:03 12

2008 Suzuki Burgman AN650 Executive 7620 miles clear title aftermarket air horn $5000 OBO in Austin, Texas needs new stator, see the video http://youtu.be/OwdUtKAn-RQ

I'm the second owner, but I went overboard with the electronics and overloaded the stator. Between that, the cracked left fairing, condensation inside the right headlight, the items noted on the video, and the difficulty/cost involved in maintaining it, I've decided to take a break from Burgmen. I removed some of the additions, if they're needed to close the deal I'll throw them in. These include the big Givi box with brake lights, passenger back rest, and mounting hardware (earlier version of http://www.givi.co.uk/cases/monokey/E52-MAXIA), 100 watt amp with waterproof speakers (that's what the mounting balls on the brake reservoirs are for), extended driver backrest. The steering cover doesn't have the Exec badge because I added a ram mount (right handlebar) and used a 650 cover that was cut to match it. FYI, the new ride is a Suzuki VS1400. I never dropped it and don't know how the fairing cracked, although I have some theories.

I had my tuberware crack on my 2011 and have no idea how. What are you thinking?

I'm thinking if I hit a bump in the road, went over a low curb, or otherwise jostled what looks like a weak connection point (where the panel connects to the bike in the very front bottom), that could have broken the connection loose and introduced vibration or enough movement to start a fracture. Another possibility is that I had it in several shops and someone could have messed it up and not known or reported it.
