top up engine oil with different rating

HI,

I use 10 - 40 in the engine. I have a can of 5 -50 . Can I use the 5 - 50 for topping up? Mine is one of the oil drinkers. Thanks.

The manual says you can use up to 15W-50 so you should be OK.
