Hello Burgie 400 fans!!
I have a '12 650 Exec that is "Moonstone Grey", and I want to change the paint to one of the Burgman blues!! Over the years, Suzuki seems to have blessed the 400's with more choices of blue than the 650's. I have gone to color-rite.com and have seen "color swatches" of the different Burgie blues, but don't know where else to go to get a good look at how the colors are in the real world. Do y'all have any suggestions or recommendations about which of the blues y'all like or where else I could go to looky-see? (I'm gonna post this on the '07 to current board too, but I just gotta say that so far, I'm really leaning to the Deep Metallic Blue from the '04 400...
Thanks for any info you might have!!

I like the Candy Grand Blue on my 06 400S. We live close enough to each other that we could meet somewhere and you can look at it if you like. That's about the only way you are going to get to see the colors, find someone who has one of the bikes and arrange to look at it. Other than that you are stuck with looking at paint swatches.
I've seen one of the blue 2004 400s here in the metroplex. There was also fellow in Fort Worth that had one of the 2004 blue 650's. The two colors look a lot alike in the flesh. I haven't seen anything posted by either of those folks in a couple of years so I suspect they are either not active on the forum anymore or have sold their bikes.

The 400S is more of a royal blue compared to the standard navy blue of an AN400 both are metallic. I have the navy blue my friend has the 400S royal blue. Not sure exactly what Suzuki calls them, I like both.

I like the dark metallic blue the best. The candy blue is nice too but just like the deeper blue colors myself. This guy has a web page with pics of the different colors on the 400 and 650. Don't think he updates it anymore. http://www.suzukicycles.org/All-Suzuki/ ... odels.htmlYou could also search craigs list for blue burgmans https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=p ... 00&bih=872The '05 Yamaha Majesty dark metallic blue is a great color too.

You know that the 2003 650's also came in blue. I have always been very partial to the faster blue color and my GT3000 and Burgman are both blue and faster. Of my 8 bikes all but 2 have been blue (not counting my Gloden Pinto minibike) but I painted my red honda blue so only my red-flamed HD softail (The Ghost Rider) is still a slower color. I used Duplicolor rattle-cans: midnight blue for a base coat, Blue Metal Flake for the main coats, and Metalcast Blue Anondize for the top coat with good results. Before: After: My other 2 faster blue rides.

I'm not sure where people get this blue is the faster color thing. Everyone knows that light shift makes things look red if they are moving away from you and blue if they are moving closer. So that Red 650 you see is pulling away from you. If it looks blue you are catching up to it . All kidding aside, that's a good looking paint job on the Honda

Personally I wouldn't limit myself to the blues that Suzuki offered. Not with so many beautiful colors coming out on various autos. What I would do is look around til I saw a color I liked, get the code and find a painter to shoot it. Likely you will save some on paint as you can get auto paint that matches from ppg at much lower prices than color-rite. As an example i saw a very dynamic blue on a Hyundai Veloster recently, medium dark but very bright and vibrant. I had my Super Glide shot in a Ford color, Sonic Blue Clearcoat which I still like very much, it has a certain amount of shift to it depending on the light, everything from a dark blue, near purple to a very bright blue under direct light. If you're spending the money for a repaint be sure and get what you want from it.
