Dwayn we need a reliable way of contacting the admin of this forum on those occasions when it is down.
It is absolutely not acceptable to post an email address that is not bulletproof, and certainly not to post an email address that was not tested.

We deserve better than this and I would be most grateful if you could just sharpen up a bit.

It would also be useful particularly for those that help as admins or mods! that they are informed when any planned work or planned interruption to service is scheduled. There are still far too many instances where it appears that someone is messing around with the forum settings or the back end.

You and your team are not coming over at all well and nowhere near the professional approach we need.

Sorry to be so direct but this is just not good enough and you need to know that.

I received the same 'unable to deliver message' when attempting to conact Dwayn@Motorccycle.com yesterday re. email problems.
Tried to send same message using both Windows Live Email & Hotmail.
Same result.

Resorted to sending P.M.
We'll see if I get a response - message still in outbox (weekend?).

Any time frame for the restart and update of the site, such as Membership, store, and updated links?

Seems like Greengoose has been gone a long time and nothing new has happend to move forward.

Who is in charge of the site and what is expected as we move forward?

Just wondering.......this is such a good site, with lots of great people, lots of good information and a real asset for Burgman riders.

Hope things move forward soon!

Thanks to all for all their work getting here and hope it keeps going!

Here's the best I could come up with :?

motorcycle.com (new owners) have a web page.
Contact link
http://www.motorcycle.com/forum/sendmessage.php

They, in turn, are owned by verticalscope.com
http://www.motorcycle.com/about-us.html
Jim.

When I clicked on the Admin screen name to see their profile, it shows the last login was July 5. I was reading Norm's response and found his tact to be spot on. Polite but to the point. Unfortunately he would actually have to check in to see it. This is just the ultimate slap in the face. At this point I may look into starting another website.

Please don't do that, it will not bother the owners one iota but it would bother the important people - your forum friends! :D

Don't do it.... yet.

I can put up with ads. After watching TV for more than 50 years I'm used to them. Forum ads aren't nearly as intrusive as TV ads.

The inability to contact the forum owner would be a really big problem if the forum goes down and needs to be rebooted. That's a real concern.

Not common that something in my field of expertise comes up on this forum! I'm an email specialist, Postfix MTA in particular. This is a Postfix rejection message which means that the domain "motorcycle.com" was found in virtual_alias_domains, but the address dwayn@motorcycle.com was not found in virtual_alias_maps, or if it was, it did not resolve to an address which was NOT in virtual_alias_domains. (It must; virtual_alias_domains are domains in which every address must be aliased to an address in some other class, whether handled locally or elsewhere.)

Dwayn, I could fix this for you in a heartbeat. I might even consider doing it for free or nearly free if it would make me a Hero of The Forum. :) Send me a PM.

Cheap0,

Dwayn would actually have to show up to read this. That is half the battle. The battle has been lost. I am just waiting for the site to shut down and we can't reach him or anyone else since his email is not working.

I really feel sorry for Norman, Chris, Sean, and the others I do not know of. They are here every day as if nothing ever changed, doing their best to make this the best place to be. Dedicated as ever but not able to be as successful as they should be.

When that happens, they will know. The Google ads revenue will stop. :)

Have faith. As others have pointed out, this forum is about the community, its participants, not about the ownership. I think it will survive, even under negligent management.

I sent him a short Email to both and ask for additional status information!

Gary, maybe try resending your email, but if the above email addy is the one you tried, you might fix "fourms" and change it to "forums."

Let us know what happens, please.
