Hey Gang Well its 4am here in Southern Delaware so far it appears all is good If the outer edge hasn't reached you yet it will soon, 14 to 18 hours if rain ahead of the storm with HIGH winds gusts close to 70-75 mph. The EYE pasted thought here late last night so far all is good, still dark out so I haven't been outside to check on damage. Looks like its about to meetup with NYC. Here's a good link to the Weather Channel: http://www.weather.com/weather/hurrican ... 2011-08-26Be prepared and "Batten down the Hatches"

The news reports are saying that the area in and around Woodstock NY has a lot of washed out roads and bridges and will takes weeks to repair, anyone in that area what do you say.

Hi Roger, We're NOT going to be anywhere near Woodstock NY. The site of the Woodstock Concert is located near White Lake in the Town of Bethel. I'm guessing the two are about 75 miles apart. I live 10 miles north of the concert site, which is now called Bethel Woods. The only damage I've seen around here (so far) is a few downed trees. Franck and I will be checking the routes Thursday morning. Right now I'm not anticipating any problems. We'll let everyone know our findings tomorrow evening. Paul

UpdateFranck (Steelgray) and I rode both routes today. I'm happy to report we encountered no problems. ReminderKaraokeGreg wrote:This pertains only for registrations made at the Days Inn, not the online registrations, as I stated previously you are on your own if this is the route you choose to go.
Very important for those of you who are procrastinating:
The special room rate of $65.00 (+tax) per night will expire on September 2nd
Also the block of rooms set aside for us (The NBST) will be released, so they can be taken by anyone, and when they’re gone they’re gone! So please don’t wait any longer if you plan on attending.
If you need to cancel your registration, you must do so 24 hours prior to the day of your stay. If you register for a two day stay, and do not cancel or show up, you will be charged for one night. 15 days to go!!!

Good evening everyone, Thursday 8:00pm and just got the electricity back on. Most damage to the electric lines caused by rain causing trees to up route and fall across the wires. Still areas around here that will not get the electricity back until the weekend Good to hear that the rally routes are ok. Any new plans for the rally? Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks. Any good bbq restaurants in the immediate area? david s

Dave, Glad to hear the power is back on, ours came back on Tuesday. There's lots of water damage to the roads around my town, several major roads are washed out, and narrow creeks are now wide rivers. Fortunately, Irene went somewhat eastward, away from where the NB Scooter Tour is being held. And as Paul informed me tonight, the routes are just fine! Thanks to Paul & Frank, for checking them out today, that's a lot of miles to do in one day! As for the BBQ: I believe Burger King, right across the street, has Flame Broiled burgers but no baked beans LOL! Paul & I have checked out some good places to eat during our past several route checks, that are local to the Days Inn, so as we stated earlier, the plan is to let everyone know where we plan to go, and you are welcome to join us or go to one of the several (I believe there are 10 other places) in the immediate area. FYI: We have a nice size group of riders for our inaugural ride, with one more person registering tonight for the Tour! IMPORTANT: Make certain to read the room rate reminder Paul posted earlier.Ordered my new set of tires tonight, Woo Hoo! dang they're getting more expensive every year! Looking forward to seeing old friends, and meeting new ones soon, Greg ( Co Organizer)

Cahoonzie (Vince) WILL be attending the NB Scooter Tour in Liberty, NY. This decision is based on my belief that alternate ride locations are necessary if rider interest is to be maintained. I urge my fellow riders from New England to attend also, as this Catskill tour is likely the most exciting ride for scenery and pavement you will experience in a lifetime east of the Mississippi. I can attest that Paul and Kathy know the area very well and will certainly show you the best of the best! I also urge folks to attend MASR which will be held in the AMISH COUNTRY of PA the weekend following this ride. Will Lewis, the former ride captain and current consultant to MASR is a special friend. He has and will continue to provide you with his exceptional hospitality, only found in the AMISH country. TWO WEEKENDS BACK TO BACK!!!! TWO EXCEPTIONAL RIDES WITHIN 6 RIDING HOURS OF EACH OTHER. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!!!!! ALL MY BEST, VINCE

Greg, Thank you for the information and especially about the BBQ stuff. Flame broiled burgers just don't do it. Now if it is pulled pork or baby back ribs, that is another story. Most damage here was due to the rain causing trees to up route and fall over but not enough rain to cause flooding. Roads blocked by trees and electric wires and not by water. Good to hear that the Rally routes are ok. Looking forward to more riding in the mountains. Many thanks to everyone who has done so much to make this Rally a tremendous success. Nice to hear that Vince is coming to the Rally. I enjoyed riding with Vince from his home town to New Holland, Pa for the MASRs even in the rain. I know what you mean about the price of tires, had to put new tires on my scooter this year also. If the price increases any more, will need to take out a loan for my next pair. See everyone in a couple of weeks. david s

Greg and All,
Disappointed that I can't attend your inaugural ride, sounds great. I have a client for a fishing trip on that Saturday.
Anyway, please try to attend our MASR the following weekend if you can. We will sorely miss you all if you can't make it. We have a very nice ride route of 110 miles planned for Saturday and we are using the same ride route on Sunday, with a couple additions, that Greg planned last spring.
You will enjoy meeting our new Host/Road Captain Paul Armstrong who has stepped up and doing a good job. Some of you may already know him. Scott, my stepson. has been appointed as Assistant Road Captain and has taken a great interest in the event as well.
We, of the MASR, wish you the best and may the weather cooperate.
Hope to see you!
Will Advisor/Consultant MASR
RIDE SAFE,

Jim, Nice pictures of scooters. Looks like many of the scooters were burgmans before the mods. Are we ready for the rally? How far south would I have to go to get good pulled pork and baby back ribs? Depending on distance, it might be a good weekend ride. Any suggestions on restaurants or bbq joints. You must have frequented some good ones in your navy travels. Can't wait to hear about your plans for the spring ride. Please bring a map. Hope you had a good weekend and the weather was conducive to riding. david s

Jim, Those were some awesome scooters, too bad there isn’t as much of a scooter interest by the younger generation (people our age) in this country. I’m surprised at how many custom scoots there are. Greg PS: I placed an order for some great weather on the weekend of the 16th. so were just getting the rain out of the way now.
