I'm home! Whew, hot day out there. And I don't think I have ever waved to as many bikers as I did today, once I hit US-72 West at Scottsboro. After a bit it dawned on me: they were mostly returning home from Trail of Tears rides.

scout58 wrote:What happened Saturday? We came around a few curves and hills and the group was gone, never to be seen again. We were traveling 65-70 in 55 zones.

We wondered what happened to you. We did pause and wait a bit in Georgia. I don't recall much speeding, not in excess of 60 anyway. Maybe you mean 65-70 indicated speed? I'm sure actual speed was less.

I know you were with us at South Pittsburg. From there we went east on TN-156 to TN-377 south, which became AL-73 at the dotted line. Then east on Jackson Co. 90 which became GA-301 at the next dotted line.

We paused awhile at the stop sign at GA-136, which we took down into the valley (mostly east but a bit of every direction on those hairpins. :) ) We paused again at a gas station west of Trenton, at which point we knew you were gone. I think we had 9 bikes left.

We took 136 through Trenton and back up the other side of the valley. Then GA-157 south to Cloudland, GA-48 west to yet another dotted line, and finally AL-117 from whence you can figure out the rest. Somewhere in there we lost the ninth bike, arriving at the Park with only 8, and at the Lodge with only 4.
scout58 wrote:Not knowing the route, we continued hoping to see a rider waiting at a turn...3 bikes left behind (that was a third of the group) and we ended up all the way back in to Flat Rock on Hwy 117 along the route where we started out in the morning. The four of us rode on back to Mentone and grabbed tea and dessert waiting for the lead to pull through town. Never saw anyone, so we all headed home.

Sorry we missed you, and likewise about the Ryan's trip.
scout58 wrote:Oh, please post your photos for everyone to enjoy. I will get mine downloaded in the next day or so and you can see them in my gallery.

Awww, I really wish I had brought a camera. :( I'm going to have to depend on the rest of y'all to share. :)

Andy is was so good seeing you again! I'm sorry that I missed meeting your family last year.

Photos are ready for viewing...they aren't much, but you'll get the idea.

Which Burgman were you on? Was your wife on a SWing? I posted some photos, but I didn't get to meet everyone and am terrible at remembering names until I see you a few times.
