Oneida and Oil Filters

Postby Scotty1981 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 18:03 18

I called the local dealer here and they want 15.03 for a filter, Oneida has them for 9.11 plus 12.12 shipping. Does anyone know the "sweet spot" for ordering more than 1 filter to get the best possible deal per filter because the shipping doesn't go up 12.12 with each additional filter?

I did the math and it seems to be around 6 or 7 after that it doesn't really seem worth it to order more unless you have ane xtra 100 bucks laying around to stock up on filters.

If you are not supporting your local dealer, Why not just go to your local auto parts store or Walmart and buy a filter. And replace it with each oil change.

I usually place one order a year with Oneida. I buy oil, oil filters, spark plugs, air filter, coolant, etc. Whatever I will need this year. Shipping cost is between 20 and 30% of the cost of supplies. But the overall cost is still reasonable if you spend more than $100. I was not able to find a cheaper place.

I won't be able to afford to place an order that large.

I order my filters from powersportsplus.com

http://www.powersportsplus.com/parts/de ... 05240.html

As of today, they charge $4.19 for an oil filter (16510-05240) & USPS shipping for orders under 10 bucks is 1.75
* filter is for my 2008 Burgman 400

Took a few extra days to get it as they had to order the part, than ship it out. Didn't appear that they had it in stock,
but as long as I plan ahead, it's the cheapest i've found anyways.

You can check out with paypal if you've never heard of the site before. That's what I do for sites such as this. So far no problems with them.

I appreciate the feedback everyone I think I'll just go to the dealer this time as money is tight and I wouldn't save too much ordering just enough for my 500 mile service online.

Since he has a 650 he would need part number 16510-03G00-X07. Their cost on it is $9.34.
