Seat release cable 400K7

I can manually close and open the seat latch, but not with the key. Turning the key to the left I can see the cable is not moving, but when I use the emergency mod, opens up very easy.
if the problem is by the ignition area, how I can check the cable in that area ?
Scoot have 2100 miles.
Thanks in advance

If the temperature is below freezing, any moisture accumulation in the cable will freeze and prevent the key turn from moving the cable. If temperatures are moderate then you have a problem at either end.

I don't think that frozen cable is the problem, I'm in Florida, " If the temperature is 75, Thanksgiving is around the corner " lol
Thanks

To open the trunk, I push the key in and turn to the right, not the left, but I guess you know that already and you meant to write 'right'. Right?

Ok then, I see your problem. Turn the key to the right and the seat will open!

==============================================

Aside from that, the cable can become FROZEN, and I don't mean ICEY COLD, I mean STUCK with RUST. This has happened before. The middle of the cable dips down and can hold water, which then causes rust and corrosion and makes the cable get stuck. the answer is a lot of WD40 and pushing and pulling on the cable until it comes free, OR a new cable.
Cheers!

Did it open when you turned the key clockwise?

Right? Left? Like Einstein's theory of special relativity, it's a matter of perspective. When I refer to R or L on the bike, it is from my seated position but when someone else discusses R or L, I am never quite sure if they are speaking from a position of looking at the bike from the front to the back which would reverse all the R & L's. OR, it may just be our other left.

I had a stuck cable every winter when the temps dropped below freezing. I installed the mod for those times so that I would not be locked out of the trunk. This year, for some reason I have not had to use the mod. It now opens with the key in any temp. I would like to think that the water/moisture in the cable had just evaporated but that is just wishful thinking. More than likely, the water has reacted with the cable and has corroded it. I will change it out this spring to avoid a 'snap'.
