2017 Suzuki Burgman 400 Preview

..."Suzuki updated the 399cc Single to deliver more low-to-midrange torque. No figures were released but Suzuki says the engine offers better power performance even when riding two-up. A larger airbox mounted under the seat was designed to improve throttle response and better acceleration in stop-and-go traffic while a iridium spark plug promises improved fuel economy and range. The new spark plug along with revised fuel injection system and a redesigned catalyzer help the Burgman meet Euro 4 emission standards without sacrificing performance."...

I don't know, besides the red rims, I dont like the slimmer design, shorter more upright windshield either and it looks like the pillion has no floorboards just some fold out "wings" to step on, like the Kymcos and such. Dont think this helps with long rides comfort.

overall it looks more like a "regular" scooter and have lost the classic look I like more. yeah I am old fashioned.

Not the direction I wanted it to go.

I like the current version because of its humongous storage and fairing that make it hugely practical in all weathers.
Now that those have been traded off for a sporty look it seems just like any another scooter.

Lighter and more mid range oomph sounds good but if I wanted sporty I would have bought a superbike in the first place.

I think I will hang onto my L0 for longer and see what other options come up

I have been waiting for this for while now and sadly initial impressions are not great. Will have to wait for more detail but increased seat height, loss of storage and decreased weather protection are not what I wanted.

These are my first reactions, too.

I like a lot of the improvements: it looks sharp and I'm sure the fun factor is amazing. But it loses a lot of utility - it is much less the jack-of-all-trades that makes the current model appealing to me.

Looks like it's got a 15" front wheel amongst other things, but has lost lots of underseat storage. Only 42 litres under there now, unless that's a misprint on the UK site. No power output figures mentioned yet. But overall I quite like it, I think!

Here's the UK Suzi site showing the bike with specs:
