You don't need to be running it at a constant speed anyway so I'd stay off the freeway regardless of speed limit.

Taking mine on the M3 motorway yesterday I was at about 6800RPM at 72MPH.

Indicated, although at lower speed my burgman's speedo seems very accurate against the assorted speed LED signs in London.
