New Shoei Helmet, StreetGlo, and a new Burgman Grin

The report came back on my mucho-expensive helmet, stating that it had been damaged enough to warrant replacement. This time around, I knew I wanted a high-visibility helmet color, more than something that "went with" Miss Ingrid's color scheme (red), or was really cool (like my previous "Flutter"). I opted for another Shoei RF-1000, but this time, I got it in Axis Yellow. Out of the box, it looked something like this:

Every time I looked at it, I kept thinking to myself ... what does this helmet keep reminding me of? Suddenly, it dawned on me. Wal-mart!

With a little help from a couple of StreetGlo's SpeedStripes kits and an X-acto knife, we have the following:

which reflects to look like...

From the side, we have:

reflecting to look like:

I now have people pointing at my head and laughing, which is good. It means they saw me!

That is absolutely hilarious! I have a cat-tail on mine these days, but similar helmet (Shoei X-Eleven...and you thought yours was expensive...heheh) and the same base kit (no smiley, just the rest of it). The cat tail gets enough stares and comments (I used to wear the ears too, but the wind at highway speeds tugs them too much), but your smiley beats my cat ears/tail hands-down!

My Black Shoei:
Daytime Front
Daytime Back
Night Front
Night Side
Night Back

That's the Stealth/Super Black that StreetGlo sells except the pinstripe along the bottom edge, which is TapeWorks RimStealth (aka RimStripes) that I had on their originally.
