Hard to get a screen shot since it locks up. Next time it happens I will try to get a photo with my camera. Working OK today - first time I've been on in several days.

Using Windows 7 Premium (with all updates), Mozilla Firefox. I keep all the flash player, Adobe Air, and stuff like that updated with Avast updates.

Okay, I'm glad to hear everything has been sorted out.
If this persist, let us know and try to grab that photo.

Thank you!

Richard.

Thats nothing to do with the site and more to do with your PC grinding to a halt due to low specs or a huge amount of useless crap running in the background by the sound of it.

Oct 2015 purchased 2007 Phantom Grey Metallic AN650 - 7000 miles
Feb 2016 and have done more miles in 5 months than the previous owner did in 8 years.
Mar 2016 3 MC tires in 17500 miles then went Darkside - Federal Formosa FD1 165/60r 14 - now 8000 miles in and finding it far superior to the MC tyre's.

Meanwhile, in the lower left corner is a message banner listing all the programs loading - ads, tracking cookies, Doubleclick, etc etc. Too much crap and it's not worth it at this point.

I'll concur that these are issues on the PC end, and not the website itself. The fact that you have to restart your PC means that there is just too much running in the background.

It also sounds like you have a good bit of Malware on your PC. I highly recommend finding a copy of Malwarebytes or another alternative and run a scan on your PC.

My uncle had similar issues to his PC, he was a habitual click on every popup and download useless crap type of guy, whenever I went there his home screen was a sea of icons placed there by his latest "click frenzy".

What made things worse was when he tried to fix things without researching it first , he'd use one of these "We have detected your PC is running slow, download "this" and install" type sites which are all over the interwebs, which more often than not install a virus themselves.

I kept telling him not to, I also told him to get rid of one of his greatest resource hogs NORTON and install a free security programme like AVAST or even AVG but he refused and instead convinced himself it needed upgrading and would buy a new higher spec PC and I would get his old one for free.

Of course it would run fast again as soon as I wiped it.
The rest of the family haven't had to buy a PC in decades, so there's an upside.

^^ This, download FREE version here https://www.malwarebytes.org/dl-confirm/
I also run FREE Spybot in the background https://www.safer-networking.org/ it has a popup warning needing your attention whenever something tries to change a registry entry

I uninstalled Norton on day1. Have run Avast and Malwarebytes with updates since day 1. I've even installed Malwarebytes Chameleon and occasionally run it. And, I'm very careful about what sites I go on. I don't click ads. No "porn". No spam email clicks.

Funny, if it's a computer problem then why is this the only site that locks up? Three other forums - ADV, Kia Soul, Suzuki V-Strom - with no problems. Ever.

Although - it's working today OK. Strange.

Well, that didn't take long. I came back on and it locked up again. Here are 2 photos I took with my camera before restarting. BTW - it doesn't matter which choice (stop script, continue script, etc) I click, it still locks up.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to "diss" the site. I love the forum, but it's frustrating when it locks up on me regularly.

Hope you can find the solution.

Run debugger, and stop all scripts.

It's a drastic step, but you might try deleting and reinstalling FireFox. Had a user on another site experiencing the same issue and that seemed to resolve it for them. Kind of like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

If you run "Debug Script", do you get any more information from the popup? If so, can you send it along to us?
