Burgman 400 Oil change PDF

I'll be documenting all my maintenance procedures. For those of you without shop manuals here is an illustrated guide with part no's for the 400's oil change.

SCTR,

Nice job looks exactly like my 250 ...

Suggestion ...

Oil drain plug could you add a more general area shoot to help people locate it first, then the close up of actual plug ...

This posting was definitely a BIG help. Thanks for saving me a lot of money by doing it myself instead of taking it to a dealer.

Why isn't this a sticky too? everyone has to do it.. it gets done more often than anything else you'll do to your bike (I hope anyway)

Checking the B400 oil level

To check the oil on my B400, I first had a partner hold the bike vertical and I made sure the oil level was exactly full, as the manual recommends.

Then I put it on the center stand and jacked the front wheel up and down until the dipstick indicated the same as it had when being held vertical. It turned out that 1 1/2" under the front wheel was needed.

Now I can check the oil with the bike on the centerstand.

oil change

Thanx SCTR, That helped tremendously. I did check out your site to order parts but believe it or not I got the oil filter and both orings at my suzuki dealer for $11.00, it would have cost $15.75 on-line. But your instructions were greatly appreciated.

The B400 engine oil filter and both o-rings are available for purchase at your local NAPA Auto Parts store (part number FIL4949) for about $12.00.
