If light smudges like many have referred to, you might try goo-gone.

If more severe scuffs, I would go to Meguiars Mirror Glaze #7. Followed up by a coat of hard wax.

Maybe, however it does wonders for rubber sole marks, shoe polish, tar and most everything else from oil to sticky bugs. It does not leave any residue nor damage paint in anyway. Use wet on a rag and wipe clean with another dry rag, voilà just like new. Now for a nice wash and a wax job to give it that showroom look.

It works because it is naphtha, a solvent.

As long as something is petrol safe it won't be harmed.
