Re: Fatality Map

Checked most of the twisty roads I regularly ride in this North Texas area and only one of them had had a motorcycle fatality. The Three Sisters in South Texas has it's share though as does the Mountain Road I ran off of in Arkansas.

Re: Fatality Map

The main road that goes near my house has one section of road that has the most car accidents and it is the section that is straight and the speed is reduced to 45 mph. So many cars in that area most go too fast and do not watch where they are going.

As for drawing a conclusion from all of the cycle wrecks on a road. Not so easy to get a good answer but the numbers make you wonder.

Re: Fatality Map

Great web site.
It's particularly scary to see how many fatalities there are at the confluence of two major highways, 1 mile from my house.
The other thing is, it looks like it's a lot more dangerous to be a pedestrian and on a vehicle...(yes I understand the statistical side of things, just making an observation.)

Re: Fatality Map

Example if you have a problem on an interstate you best stay inside the car. Or some distant away from it to stay safe.

As we know from riding a cycle, look where you want to go and somebody just may be looking at you on the side of the road.

I haven't had any issues out here on the Great Plains, however because of the open roads you see a lot of driver's reading newspapers and playing with their phones, as well as having their dogs on their lap etc!
