San Diego to Indio ride

So we have a new contract in the Indio, CA area, this is about 152 miles each way from my office. The first few trips where in the cage, but I love the desert riding.

So for me the trip is simple:
A little 8 east to 67 North, I take this to Ramona where it turns into the 78, after taking a left and heading north on the 79, Passing a casino I go east on the S2 and jump the S22 to head to Borego Springs. The S22 is a great hill ride. Not too hard and not too long.

Here is a few pictures!

I love to ride that area. I'll often head out Hwy 76 from the coast and pick up 79 north to S-2 and so on. Or like the other day I went up and over through Julian. Cold up there! The Sunrise Highway is pretty awesome too. We have some great riding out there in East County.

Fantastic riding in that area. Last year we rode down from LA to that route and rode to Salvation mountain. Beautiful ride, save for the winds. Love the Salton sea and the whole area, just not in August. Lol.

You have made realize that there are very few places where you can go from sea-level at the coast to mountains over a mile high in less than an hours ride, including a lot of twisties.
Next time I'll think how lucky I am.

Well if anyone is ever game to make that ride, let me know. I do leave from Pacific Beach or Oceanside depending on my start/stop point. I am there for about 2-3 hours working then back on the wheels. I got a great sun tan on the arms last ride I did, no regrets!

Well again another Thursday ride of 300 plus miles. What a great way to spend it!

Here is the beast at Salton Sea OHV area.

I love riding of road toys in the washes, but never take time to see the tops.
