Looks like a great trip! Are you camping along the way? If so try the Mountain View RV park in Arco. Great food at the restaurant and I think I remember that the breakfast was free if you camped. I see you have a shorter ride planned on the day you go through Yellowstone. That's good because there is so much to see.
I've got a summer trip planned for September, up California Sierras and through Oregon and Washington to BC and back down the coast. Still figuring out route, bit I think we will keep it flexible.

Good luck and safe travels!

I am staying at KOA campgrounds in their camping cabins, I am getting to soft to sleep on the ground LOL. So I would call it semi camping.

I'd like to give you some pointers on route through Colorado, Utah. Can you share a map of the route you are so far envisioning? There's so much awesome stuff, both in rides and sights that you are going to miss a lot, no matter what you do.

Be careful going over Douglas Pass on 139 going north out of Loma. Curvy, nice views but, the road is not very stable and usually has damaged areas and gravel. Very rideable but, with caution.

Better to have scooted and got lost, than to never have scooted at all.

this is my route, I do plan on a side trip out of Montrose to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison
I know I will be missing lots of neat things to see. Hoping for another trip next year just to Colorado.

While in Cortez make a day trip to Mesa Verde 10 miles to the east. It is incredible how people hundreds of years ago were able to climb into cliff dwellings. Also the museum has artifacts that date back 500+ years ago! It was hot a couple weeks ago. I bought a $5 golf umbrella at Walmart in Cortez. $8 for motorcyclists.

Doesn't that big umbrella catch a lot of wind on the bike?

Nope, because I used it while hiking. Surprisingly I was the only one with it on the hike to Long House (a cliff dwelling), & it also kept the bugs away b/c it was black. It got windy but never turned inside out while hiking.

Make sure to apply sunscreen. UV radiation is VERY high over there. That's the main reason I bought the umbrella.
