Went for a ride and ended up saving the day for a hog

I went for a ride this morning bored out of my mind I decided to head up to Lake Erie from Delaware, Ohio. After being up there for a little and eating lunch I decided I would head home because I was still bored and would take some different routes on the way home. On US 30 near the town of Nevada I saw a yellow Harley sitting next to the road and 2 people standing against the guard rail.

I felt sorry for them and got turned around and headed back to find out something came lose on the motor and although they had tools with them they didn't have the correct size tool with them. Luckily I had the correct size they were able to get the part tightened back up and headed down the road.

It was pure 100% dumb luck I was traveling through the area at the time and was able to stop and help.

Makes you feel a tad bit good when things work out.

How nice of you to help.
I carry quite a few tools, mostly for the purpose of helping others, as I frequently ride with groups. I carry the usual mechanical tools, plus tire plugs, 12V air compressor, jumper cables, electrical testing tools, safety reflectors & safety lights, flashlights, mosquito repellent, etc.
When I was a boy scout, we lived by the motto "Be Prepared", and I still do.
Ride on.

You are clearly one of the good guys. Well done.

An acquaintance did the same thing for a Harley rider here and was told:
"I don't need help from a #*$&n scooter"

People are just plain weird.

That is great of you to stop, but more important I really like the idea of just wondering.....I find myself doing this when I head home. I live on the beach and there is about 15 different ways to come home from my office. Sometimes it's just hit the freeway and call it good and sometimes its coastal riding.

3 years ago I was doing the Going to the sun Road in Glacier National Park. Stopped at the visitor center at top of pass and there was a guy there with a HD that was out of gas. I always carry some extra gas just in case so gave it to him so he could get off the mountain and find a gas station. Turned out they had rented the bike and had no idea how bad of gas mileage it got. He was super thankful for the gas. I always hope if I am need someone will come to the rescue.
