Scooting The Ozarks 2017

The Tenth Annual Scooting The Ozarks Rally will be September 11-16, 2017 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. STO is open to all scooters, and motorcycles are also welcome.

Registration for STO 2017 is now open. Early Bird registration, $25 per person, is 7 days only. $35 Jan. 8 through May 30. $45 June 1 until rally time. Registration is now done online, and payment by PayPal. http://scoottheozarks.proboards.com/...o-registration

Registration includes at least one meal, a rally shirt (register before Aug. 15 to insure your size), and one chance to win a GoPro Hero Session Cam (must be pre-registered and present to win). We plan riding all 6 days of the rally. Also being planned are a Show-n-Shine, bingo, karaoke, a pot-luck meal, and of course, most important, lots and lots of riding the twisties of the Arkansas Ozarks!

So nice to see they've finally added an online registration feature. I hope to be able to register soon to attend.

Join us for STO! Discount fees if you register before June!

I tried to put our rally flier here, but could not post it, so here's a link to the flier: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...r.jpg~original

Thanks for your hard work and hopefully it gets promoted more. Have you tried to get some vendors and dealers to bring test bikes and ask Suzuki dealers to participate? Have you asked some shops to do things like have tires for sale and install at the rally? BMW rallys have been successful because they do things like this and not just try and make it a family gathering and rides.....not criticism but fact and please have your organizers consider it.

I noticed in your message board even a near by dealer had never heard of the rally...that tells you something and maybe every dealer within 200 miles who sells scooters should be identified and contacted.

Great and hopefully he/she will speak to some of the organizers of successful rallys in your area and see if some of their ideas might work at STO! Arkansas is a great riding state and September is a perfect riding time.

B, B, & B has become a major success as a motorcycle rally and is the following week so some scooter riders could hit both.

Thanks again for your hard work....maybe you could get the Rally Organizer to comment on some of the comments and also maybe both of you speak to the people who do the Texas Scooter Rally on the small end and B,B, & B or Hot Springs on the large end and see if it might generate some NEW ideas.

westnash, you have so many suggestions for how a rally should be organized. May I ask what rallies you have had an active role in organizing, and how many scooter rallies you have attended.

Appreciate your hard work. Sorry, I don't mean to come at it from a know it all perspective but I mean to be constructive from having seen a lot perspective. I think most everyone on Burg Forum would like a large and successful Fall Scooter Rally in a wonderful riding area. I have always thought STO could be it and when I have read your previous years reports of declining attendance and activities have been disappointed (especially since B,B & B & Hot Springs Rally in your area have grown from nothing to extremely successful in a short time). I base mine on being a Paying attendee of hundreds of rallys around the country - a customer! My belief is that STO is declining because its not changing, simple as that and I wont beat a dead horse any more. If I wanted to attend a family reunion with all the cousins, kids, and same old I wouldn't need to stay in hotels and pay to attend a rally but would just visit relatives!

I say this every year, but I'm going to try and make it this year. September is a bad month for me at work and I may only make it Wednesday through Saturday. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
