Scooting The Ozarks 2016

STO 2016 will be September 14-17 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This is a riders' rally with opportunities to ride the twisties in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas each day of the rally. All scooters are welcome, modern and classic, mopeds to maxi scooters. Registration is now open, with Early Bird (reduced fees) registration lasting thru January 8.

Thanks and is long notice should give STO time to work on getting a larger assortment of dealers and hopefully and finally some scooter manufacturers like Suzuki there. It is not just about going on rides, at least for me. Some of the BMW rally's should be good models for STO.

Registration has been changed to include discounts for more dates. Revised PDF registration form can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0(revised).pdf

westnash, we have tried to get dealers and manufacturers to attend STO in the past. Being a scooter rally, and a small one at that, we haven't been successful so far. We also have the disadvantage of having our rally the same month as Bikes Blues and Barbecue in Fayetteville. Vendors prefer to attend that huge motorcycle rally.

Why don't you use the BMW rally at Potosi Mo as a model....same general location and a long time and very well attended rally that does well for vendors and attendees.

B,B,& B is a large and successful rally but has almost nothing to do w/ scooters. Have you contacted BMW and BMW dealers, Honda and Honda and Honda dealers, Suzuki and Vespa and Kymco and Yamaha and their dealers to show them the benefit of marketing to scooter owners? Have you told the manufacturers that this is one of a few chances to get potential customers on a demo scooter to test? A chance for dealers to sell and install products (BMW dealers do a land office business selling and installing tires at rally's)

I may be different than your average attendee but can ride around on roads in MO and AR without paying fees or following other scooters or attending the rally.

Sorry to be critical, but I don't see notices of this rally put on internet sites and FREE listing in major motorcycle magazines. Last time I looked all I saw was a antiquated message board on a web site. Not very good for what cold be the largest scooter rally in the USA with a bit more aggressive outreach.

Tess seems to have either run away or is sure that STO is on top of everything and nothing else needs to be done to improve attendance or the experience.

I have not "run away". We are working on getting the word out there about STO. I didn't see any questions that required answers, and didn't wish to argue with someone who is already critical of what is being done. I'd rather spend my limited computer time constructively. Have a great year everyone. Safe riding! Hope to see you at STO.

Tess, how is the attendance looking so far? Many sign ups? I was thinking about coming, but noticed I can't sign up online, since one has to mail in a printed form.
Recently, I got some brochures on Harrison, AR & general Arkansas motorcycle riding, and they list all kinds of ride rallies, but not STO. I almost wanted to contact them to let them know, but since it's your baby, I felt I had no right to run ahead, since if it got too big, you would be the one feeling all the stress. I don't have the right to do that.
