Well one thing I alway throw under my seat is one of those little lithium jump-start booster batteries. Some of them are very small and if you forgot to turn something off and the bike is dead, it's all you need to save the day. I just picked up a 6,000 mah unit for $80 bucks and considering it will also charge a dead phone, or other electronics it's nice to know it's along.

Only things I carry other than the tool kit that came with the bike are jumper cables, a tire plugging kit, a compressor, a cell phone and a credit card. I use to carry more tools until I realized there is not much you can really do on these bikes on the side of the road that you can't do with the cheap little tool kit that comes with them.

When heading out on a trip, I'll add a toolset-one of those plastic snap cases- that contains a variety of sockets, wrenches, allen keys, etc., It's only about a foot long , 8" wide and maybe 4" deep. It fit easily under the seat along with a mini compressor($10@ Big Lots), and a tire plug kit. A good credit card and a phone, and I'm fairly well prepared.

You can get jumper cables for a motorcycle instead...much cheaper.

Where do you ride in Mexico and how does it handles the topes?

I always carry some duct-tape, and the whole of the service manual on a memory-stick.

Kind of an off subject question, but can you jump start a Burg off a car? I think I heard yes if the car isn't running???

Yes. Just make certain that the -&+ connections go to the correct posts on each battery.
