Security my A$$

I didn't ask for this password reset, lets make it so difficult to remember, ridiculous I've been a member since nearly the beginning and have had 0 issues with security nor do I have access that would harm others. Wake up and stop doing stupid things, it's bad enough that the ads make my web browers freeze/crash.

Signed throughly disgusted

MJR, I'm a newbie here, and in my 60's with limited technology skills, but it wasn't much of a chore to reset my password. All you need to do when you receive the email with your new mixed up un-rememorable password, is to copy it, then paste it here under your profile, then change it back to your old password, and add an upper or lower case word & a symbol if needed to make a total of 10, then write it down somewhere if you can't remember what you added, then reset it. Basically you're keeping it almost the same as your old password, just adding a few new things to add up to 10.
As far as the ad pop-ups, I use AdBlock, which takes care of all the sites I visit daily.
Both of these worked for me. Not too much of a bother for added security I guess.

Difficult passwords makes people write them down on a yellow post-it kept in plain sight, or make them obvious and easy to guess.

Unless they just use the built in "remember password" feature of a modern web browser, OR an easy to remember password. Something like Alaska2000! meets most password requirements and is very easy to remember.

Burgman USA - In the interest of security, I'd like to make a suggestion.

Why not use a 37 character password? Each password must contain:
1 Capital letters
2 Lower case letter
3 Numbers
4 Arabic symbols
5 a mathematical equation
6 the length of your forearm
7 the VIN numbers of your last 8 vehicles
8 the pledge of allegiance to the advertising gods who own the site
9 a stool sample

This would help to guard the ultra-sensitive information shared on this site from invading space aliens and the Chinese.

This is a repost

The ads can be fixed using an adblocker plug-in in your chrome or Firefox/Mozilla browser.

The password is just more secure.

You should only need to enter your username and password once, be sure to check the
"Remember me" box. This way it automatically signs you in.

At the bottom left of the forum page, I chose "Classic" instead of "Full". It's much less cluttered and easier to navagate and read.

Hope it helps
