Those are interesting observations. Particularly the bit about being nasty. This forum is EASILY the most "polite" forum full of very sensitive and easily offended people that I have ever been on. Compared to other forums I use, there is virtually non-existent sarcasm or any hint of "nastiness" at all.

I can't imagine what other sites you're visiting if this one could possibly be rated by anyone as any kind of source of pain and suffering that dissuades people from coming back.

I've only owned 3 kinds of scooters and read 3 scooter forums for 4 years.

My take:

a) The bigger & pricier the scooter the older the forum members tend to be.
b) Suzuki/N.America sells some really big & really expensive scooters.

a) + b) explains to me why I see, what I see here - sometimes.

Well....to each his own. All I can say in response to Vintner is you're not there, you're here. This forum has existed for a long time the way you see it. It has been one of the most popular and trafficked maxi-scooter themed sites for quite some time now. Just like people in one state or country tire of hearing new move-ins say "Well back where I came from, they did this....", such could be applied to this case. BUSA is a fantastic forum, and we like it just the way it is, thank you.
And all the exceptional times you say it is necessary to need to know info to help you on bike related issues, could pile up to where a full profile would have helped many fill those needs.
By your comment on only coming by when you need something, its seems hard to believe a moderator like yourself helps there but elsewhere you seem to be someone who operates on the principle of taking what you can and not really caring to contribute or help others or even just socialize. Then you snively compare those of us long timers who come here to socialize as "living here". And we're the rude ones?????

And as to nastiness, this forum is quite polite compared to other maxi-scooter themed ones I have been on. The only time I have seen real nastiness outside of one or two perpetual grumps (or a certain someone being defensive about BUSA being attacked, LOL) has been in the Back Alley or Tavern sections. By their very nature, they are open to topics of conversation that involve highly emotionally charged issues: politics, religion, whose nation is better, etc..
cheap0 and gec343 like this.
