EOS MyRoad 700i

A friend of mine was looking around for a Maxi-Scooter in the 400cc - 500cc range and out of curiosity visited a Kymco dealer in their area and was told that the MyRoad 700i was on sale as it is apparently a EOS model (End Of Series). We logged on to Kymco Canada's website and it is in actual fact posted on Kymco's site as a EOS.

Was not able to determine if it is being replaced completely or really being dropped as a model.

Personally have only ever seen one MyRoad 700i in in my travels here.

Possibly a good deal to be had on one of those if you like that machine and if it continues to be supported parts wise after.

That's a big "if". I run a large scooter group in Los Angeles, and I've yet to see a kymco 700 in the wild. Plus the reviews weren't that great on the bike. Not sayin' it's a bad bike or deal, just that it wasn't popular. I'd be concerned with parts availability five years from now (I tend to keep my vehicles a long time).

Better! It's what the BMW scooter could have been. I waited years for the right deal as I did not want to pay more than my Burgman 650 (last new '09 was $7,500 OTD). I bought mine a year ago as a dealer was blowing them out . I have had several compliments on it. 2015 was the last model year it was made (started in 2008 overseas though it was only offered in the US for 2014-15 because of a deal with BMW to manufacture engines for their scooters). The replacement scoot is the AK550 which leans toward the Tmax recipe. I've only had two problems thus far fixed under warranty. The first was a seal leaking final drive oil into the CVT (took finding the right dealer to fix it, Malcolm Smith in Riverside, thanks guys!) and one of the rear shocks stopped adjusting. I like the very futuristic styling and appreciate the differences to my Burgman 650's. It has a higher center of gravity than the Burgman, a bit heavier, and feels more like an adventure bike to me sitting on it. I've upgraded the brake levers to some Dimotiv ones that reduce lever effort and have more adjustment than the stock ones. As far a comfort I think the seat is the biggest issue. I have plans at some point to have it modified. I had the chance recently to sit on another riders MyRoad with a modified seat and it was a huge improvement. I know of only two other owners from the Kymco forum and they have both modified the seat. It's nice that one of the guys is local in Escondido to meet up and go riding with. I also just recently replaced all the stock reflectors with LED lit ones that work with the brake/turn signals.

I've done this upgrade on my Burgman 650 before and liked it so here it is on the MyRoad 700i. There are some better ones available now for less money I got off eBay. I have replaced all the reflectors with 2 way LED lighted ones, most recently from eBay. These are wired to light when the bike is turned on, the side lights flash brighter with the turn signal, and the rear lights brighter with the brake lights.

Here's a video link on how they work, might not be as visible during the day but great at night.

On my Burgman 650 I also added this really cool lighted license plate frame from Radiantz. I got the black one with amber turns. It has LED's for the license plate (white) and I added a resistor and two diodes so the brake light also works as a running light. I will added it to the MyRoad and my other bikes as I can afford but I put in the wiring for it while I was in there.
