2016 BMW scooter specs and prices

BMW now has released the final specs and pricing on their 2016 Scooters. I see also they both call for Premium unleaded and the top speed is governed but no higher than the 650 Burgman.

Looks like the price for the GT equipped with heated seats and TPMS is about the same as the 2016 Burgman 650. I like the looks of the BMW Scooter better than the Burgman, but still feel BMW quality is lacking, plus high maintenance cost, etc.

2007 Burgman Executive (Lady Burgman) 16,000+ mile
2014 Burgman UH200 (Baby Burgman)
2010 Honda Gold Wing/ABS
1977 BMW R100/7 (bought new)
Whizzer Motorbike
2013 Kymco Agility 125

Previous scooters: 52 Cushman, 58 Allstate Crusaire,

This scooter is not finished. But i agree it promised more in terms of appearance than the 650. Still can't touch the 400 in this department yet, even the K1600 can't, albeit very close indeed.

Burgman 650 '04 Exec black (sold)
Burgman 400 hopefully next.
Suzuki DL1000 current seat

Just got rid of my BMW motorcycle about 4 months ago. BMW is a really good designer and manufacturer of motorcycles. Unfortunately it also provides inconsistent and sometimes terrible and service. Service costs compared to most other companies was hugely expensive. Maybe it was just my experience here with the NYC BWM .... no matter, it was more than enough to sway me away from any further BMW purchases. I put some real milage on the bike, so I was not a fan of their Premium only gas requirement.

My new Burgman 650 has done everything I've ever asked my BMW to do... and it has generally done it better. Comfort, speed, agility, better mpg and storage. My frequent passenger loves the extra comfort and space she now has.

If I miss anything... it is the BMW's superior brakes.

Good report. BMW had a great opportunity to make the very best Maxi Scooter but must not have done much research w/ Maxi Scooter owners to see what they wanted.

The revamped 650 Burgman, except for current color choices, still seems like the best largest scooter. The Burgman 400, except for current color choices, still is king of the singles.

They look nice and I am sure are well engineered. BMW also gives some better color choices than Suzuki! I especially like the orange sport. If I were in the market for a big touring scoot I would pick a Burgman 650 and if I wanted a sport I would go with the Yamaha T-max rather than either of the BMWs.

Insert comment here.
