If I wanted an adventure bike to take off road and into the hinterlands, I'd get the Honda Africa Twin DCT fully dressed with all the side boxes, etc. And I can ride in automatic mode with traction control too.

Exactly , this ADV is pretty much a Honda Integra scooter with some different cosmetics . Maybe Honda thinks it will sell to the ADV rider want a be types ? While it's a nice looking bike , for me it's useless . First off the ergonomics and I don't match up , then I need lots of carry space under the seat , saddle bags and a large trunk . The ADV is for joy rides , I need a bike that will do every thing but ride the dirt . Nice looking bike , but not for me .

I look at it another way, as an NC750 built for shorter people. As an older woman I found I wasn't always quick enough to plant a toe then foot when my lightweight 250 sportbike started to tip. And with the high center of gravity I had a hard time getting it vertical once it tipped past the center of gravity.

Well, apparently it's official that Honda will introduce the Honda X-Adv Adventure Scooter on 30 August. I will be waiting, but feel it won't be offered in the U.S. I sincerely hope I'm wrong!
