"L" Designation

I'm in the process of obtaining my first Burgman (2013 650) and so I'm doing lots of reading and watching videos about the bike. In some cases, I keep seeing references like "L1" or "L4" (or similar) next to the bike name and can't figure out what that designation represents! Could someone bring me up to speed on what that means?!

It's probably something simple and obvious, but I can't figure it out!

Thank you!

Steven
