06 Burg 400 won't crank

Lights, horn, and signals work fine. Battery is at 100%, fuses are all good, kickstand switch works but when I hit the ignition nothing, and I mean nothing. I've watch youtube videos on how to clean the ignition switch but before I take it apart I thought I'd ask if I should take it in to the dealership, pay the $250 diagnostic fee, to find out what's wrong? Would a repair manual really be worth it? Up until now she has been perfect and this was totally out of the blue. Can anyone help?

Have you tried pulling both brake levers when hitting the starter button
i found that if i pulled both brake levers at the same time the scoot would start
here is a thread that might help

Brake switches can be a problem. As mentioned above one of them could be bad. Quick way to tell if one is bad is to look at the brake lights when you pull each lever. If the lights don't come on with one of the brake levers then the ignition will not work with that lever either.

Also have you looked to see if the red kill switch is in the run position.

^ Ditto. Dont mess with the ignition switch, they seldom go bad. Check what Buffalo wrote. Then check the START BUTTON. Sometimes the Start Button contacts get some corrosion and lose contact. You may have to open it up and clean it out. Watch Mitch'es You Tube videos to see how to fix it.

Update: Turns out it's the starter relay. Anybody know where I can purchase an actual service manual (not a CD)? The days of taking the bike in to the Suzuki place are at an end. Learning is always a good thing.

Hi.
I'm a Noobie to Burgmans and this forum. I have an '06 AN400, and my symptoms are very similar to those of FloridaGal:
All works EXCEPT the brake lights. I suspect the bike thinks the brakes aren't applied. Like FloridaGal, I don't have any books to reference. I've visually inspected the fuses, but not knowing which one might be associated with the brake lights, and knowing you can't always tell by looking, my first inclination is to replace the fuse, if I can determine which fuse it is.
Unlike Flo, I have no history on this bike. The PO must have dumped or crashed it, then bailed. BTW... The battery is brand new as of today. Anyone with an owner's manual? (That might say which fuse does what)
Thanks in advance,
-Not a Wrench

Garage
Service manual for our bikes (2003-2006 Burgman 400):

http://www.airgad.gr/Suzuki-Burgman-...Manual-Eng.pdf

@Notawrench : It could be a fuse or any number of things- check the diagram on page 8-13, which shows all the interlocks for the ignition. If anything in that diagram is broken, then the starter won't turn over..

This tells me that the brake lever contact switches are not working or somewhere down the wiring it is not letting the computer know you are gripping a lever. You will need to ether find a manual or have a motorcycle shop diagnose the issue. I have a 650 manual but the 400's are a lot different. Maybe a member that has a manual will look thru it and see what the flow (from one point to the next) is in the brake light wiring to see where the interlock for the starter is not working.
