Farewell from RDU

I sold my 2005 650 this weekend. It gets too hot for me to ride in the Raleigh/Durham area anyway.

I really enjoyed my Burgman in San Diego, and 2 long trips in California - up to the poppy fields and up into the hills of San Diego for some apple pie. Riding the tail of the dragon in NC/Tennessee was a blast too. I showed the owner pictures of my bike "throwing sparks" on one of the curves so he wouldn't be too scared to push the bike a little harder. I'm sure it will grow on him.

When I return to two wheels, I'm hoping it will be a Honda NM4 Vultus, even though the storage is crap. I might be able to get my brother to make some body mods for an interesting look.

Keep it shiny side up.

And the rubber side down.

Wander back & post some picks if ya pick one up.
Bonus points if you're wearing a batman suit (Dark Knight style of course), or are dressed as Kaneda from Akira

Apple Pie- you must have been in Julian! Is Mother's Kitchen still on Palomar Mtn? That bakery on 76? (I lived in SD for 16 years)

As for Raleigh, my sister lived there. If I never see it again, it will be too soon!

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Do you know the bungalow of which I 'speak'?

Yeah, Julian apple pie. There is also a fabulous used book store there with all kinds of treasures. I came away with a great volume of short stories in hard covert by Mark Twain.

On the way to Julian, the road goes past a bungalow perched half-way up a mountainside. Above the house further up the mountain is a HUGE boulder. So in case an earthquake should tumble that boulder, the house and inhabitants have a good chance of being squashed like a bug. (I hope somebody catches the event on their cell phone and posts it to YouTube - the anticipation is almost too much to bear.)

Let me ride 'til I croak.
