Looking for Burgman riders. I have a 650 & no one to ride with. Also needs references for maintenance.

Hello Tim... T.G.

T.G. Poet, Welcome to BUSA from Tampa Bay Florida USA.
As Captainfish has already said, If you haven't already done so, please fill out your User profile in the Control Panel to tell us about your bike, location, etc.
Please add your location onto the Burgman Owners Map:
https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=1693807#
I don't take any credit for it or the following, I didn't make it, I just promote it.

Also please, if you would like, add your location to the Burgman Travel Stops Map.
You may be able to help your fellow Burgman travelers:

And watch out Captain, if you go down to DFW, I hear that at night on the east side of town, down my the cemetery, the Ghost of Lee Harvey Oswald roams the streets, and like a Gremlin, upsets bikers whenever he can. Hopefully you have a Gremlin Bell hanging low on your bike.

Have you tried www.meetup.com ? Just type in your interest, like "motorcycle" or "scooter" and your area to find like-minded riders. In dfw, it looks like there are lots to of riding clubs, albeit not many are scooter oriented. But you have a 650, you can ride with the big boy clubs.

I doubt you're gonna find a pre-made burgman group, just waiting for you to join. But get yourself out there, join some accepting MC groups and start riding, making friends. Quite often someone knows someone else that has a brother with a maxi-scooter, and that person has a buddy with a burgman, and those two join your club's next ride, and you make friends with them, then you find a Motorcycler converting to a scooter to join you, etc. before you know it, you'll have riding buddies. You just have to be open minded.

I wish you luck. Let us know how it goes.

Welcome to Fort Worth! This is a great little city. What we lack in pizza we make up with great Mexican food. The folks are right, there isn't a formal Burgman group around here. As far as a shop, I use Freedom Powersports in Hurst but only because they were a Suzuki dealership before they were bought out.

Give me a shout and we'll go for a ride sometime.

Thanks for that. It really does work. Sometimes in life you just have to make your own opportunities. I joined several riding groups and even became a leader of one of them. Sure there were some misses, but most were successes. I found most riders are pretty good people. There's hardly a weekend now I can't find some ride to go on. Ya just got to put yourself out there. ;D

Welcome TG Poet from another out-of-state transplant just east of you in Dallas. Yes, there are quite a few riders on here from the DFW metroplex and towns just outside. We have discussed on occasion in the Rallies & Gatherings subforum about getting together for a DFW meet, greet & ride, but as of yet, nothing has taken off. Perhaps once the weather warms up a bit more....

That said, I go out to Twisted Technology on Rufe Snow Dr. in North Richland Hills for my mechanical needs. I discovered them one day two years ago at their booth at Bedford's Cycle Gear bike night. They're good, honest, have fair pricing, do the work while I wait, and actually understand how to work on the Burg with no M/C snobbery toward it. Well, occasionally we have to double check Ledude's tutorial vids on youtube just to be 100% sure on something. It is a bit of a ride west from Oak Cliff, but I think his workmanship is worth it. Hope that helps.

Anyway, once again welcome to our BUSA community. Hope to see you on the road someday.
