For those of you interested in how the different scooters compare. Be it weight, HP, power to weight, 0-60 , 1/4 mile, etc here is the chart for you. It gives info on motorcycles as well. A great example is I have a 2009 Burgman 650 and I wanted to know if the new clutch on the 2013 and newer scooters offered any more HP or performance. No dealer could tell me but this chart does. It seems the new clutch is good for 3 more HP to the rear wheel than the older models. It is also a little faster in the high 14 sec range in the 1/4 mile. The older models are listed at just over 15 secs. Check it out. You can find it at:

Thanks for the link. I am not sure that test results that are over 5 years apart using different tracks, riders, and testers have much precision.

WT MPG SPD 0-60 -100 QRR SPD 80-0 P/Wt
Burgman 650 5/04 $7,699 I-2 CVT 37.4 58.6 607 46.4 101 7.00 n/a 15.19 84.90 20.8
Burgman 650 ABS ‘13 1/14 $10,999 I-2 CVT 41.1 30.4 615 51.16 96. 6.74 n/a 14.97 83.23 131.38

The old model had a higher top speed but did not accelerate as quickly or win the quarter mile drag race altho it posted a higher speed. Something is wrong on the stopping distance.

The Motorcycle Consumer News data sheet is no longer available.
Has anyone found a substitute?

Earlier I tried to copy the PDF but this but it doesn't make much sense.

Model Price Eng. Tran. MPG SPD WT 0-60-100 SEC QRR SPD

Burgman 650 2004 $7,699 I-2 CVT 37.4 58.6 607 46.4 101 7.00 15.19 84.90

Burgman 650 ABS 2013 $10,999 I-2 CVT 41.1 30.4 615 51.2 96. 6.74 14.97 83.23

The newer model seems to get 4.5 more mpg. and gets to 60 mph a little faster. Qtr Mile times about .2 sec. better.

One member published his drag strip performance. It was a little better than what is reported here.

I tried to find a place to report reviews on new technology and models.

This is last year's Piaggio Vespa Elettrica venture (equivalent to a 50cc)

Reviewer: The only real difference is that when you turn the key the full colour TFT dash greets you. Then when you press and hold the starter button for three seconds a light lets you know the scooter is ready. That’s it, twist the throttle and it pulls silently away.
