I wonder why the 2007 Burgman 400 isn't on the list. I suspect the parts are different.

You have me concerned. This is the first I've read of such issues with the '08/'09 AN650's.

Default Re: "Stop Sale" from Suzuki & Recall

I think the key wording is contained in the Transport Canada notice.

".......the rectifier/regulator assembly MAY have been produced with insufficient adhesion between the power module (circuit board) and the rectifier case."

The Suzuki bulletin is only to dealers - to check and/or replace the assembly on 'in stock' units.
I've seen no indication, as yet, of a Suzuki recall being issued in the U.S. for units already sold
If I were an owner of a 400 with related VIN number in the U.S., I would most definitely be checking this out with my dealer and Suzuki U.S.A.

The Transport Canada bulletin lists this (possible) problem as being a recall.

OK - my number is in there - do I just sit around and wait for something else to break?

Daboo had a bright thought. I checked the parts listings and the rectifier and control unit are different numbers
from K7 to K8 with no change up showing. Looks like they may have done something different when they changed the headlights from 7 to 8 and were having to cover higher wattage ratings with proper headlight set ups.
Just a thought

When the 08' came out they had a recall on the same part so I brought my bike in . Now they are recalling them again . I'm just wondering if the 09' and 10' have the same part like the 08' recieved on the last recall .

This is from the Suzuki Canada web site.

http://moto.suzuki.ca/~/media/Recalls/C ... etter.ashx

This recall dated October 8/2008 was for the AN400K8 and was for water ingress problem with the regulator/rectifier.
Makes no mention of the adhesion problem now being addressed.

Just got this email from a local dealership when I asked about the recall:

This right now only affects bikes that have not been sold, according to Suzuki. So at this time continue to ride your bike normally. If there is a recall on your bike you will receive notification from Suzuki in the mail. If you have any questions please give us a call.
