Harley ads and vid

I guess owning a Harley, even the new little ones, enables you to ride like an idiot. Weaving through traffic etc.

The biggest idiots, in PA with no helmet law, are those not wearing one. When I see one go by I say another rider with no brain at all, none to protect!!!

. Harley owners are required by Universal Divine Decree to remove the mufflers and wear a little black helmet that is covered by little stickers with things like "loud Pipes Save Lives" and other witty trite. Leather vests with 75 pounds of pins, chains and studs are still optional.

And Harley riders don't have the rights sewn up for riding like idiots.

Didn't mean to imply at all HD riders are substandard. I just think it's odd that the ad shows hooliganism (I owned a Shovelhead about 20 years ago. You couldn't be a hooligan on it- the 4-speed 1200 could barely get out of its own way)

Well, I've managed to be a hooligan on stuff a lot slower than that 1200

No you didn't imply that. And my post was a bit snarky; it wasn't aimed at you specifically.

I do find it ironic that while one group of riders are looking at a group of Harley riders and ridiculing them for what they ride, the HD guys are looking back at them and ridiculing them for what they ride.

If practical, I usually give a wave to fellow bikers, and have never had a Harley rider return my wave. BTW here's a picture I took in India of a Royal Enfield pretending to be a Harley.

Around my part of the world, the HD riders will generally wave back. Some of them are too cool, but for the most part they're just regular folks who prefer Harleys. Several of my old hooligan buddies have calmed down and gone to Harleys; they're still nice folks who just enjoy motorcycling at a slower pace.

I had Harleys myself and do not ride like that, I always wear a helmet and do not get in a hurry on a bike, it is different being on two wheels than being on four wheels. Remember you have idiots on two wheels and four wheels out there. It is not what you ride but how you ride that matters and it does not matter the brand of bike you are on, it is the person riding that makes the decisions. Lets not start bashing others because of what they ride.
