(not for faint of heart)
Our law that we are trying has a TOP SPEED of 35 MPH. If traffic is flowing at that speed then there is NO splitting.

In that Vid, I think things were much faster than 35 MPH. But the car driver was not looking ether. I would have and in the past, have taken the shoulder on the bike. No guessing if the car driver will stop.

His guy broke a few cardinal rules of lane splitting.

First he was going way too fast. Second he was splitting in the merge section of the HOV lane. Lastly, he did it in a section where there was traffic in one lane and none in the other, huge red flag there. He was stupid and should have been in a lane.

"Most car drivers here seem to be used to us splitting on bikes, and many many of them move over to give us even more room as we go by."

El Jefe, That sounds all warm an fizzy but what about the bike they cut off to their right in order to give you more room on the left. I had that happen to me when a kindly person crowded me off the right side of the road to avoid hitting a cute little turtle crossing the road. They saved the turtle but gave no regard to my life. Cars wandering back and forth in the lane is not a good thing.

Risking your life on the good will of others doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Sure is. And when you end up paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of your life, will you find that fact comforting?

Really! I don't think I ever witnessed anyone stupid enough to break into the chow line. You must have been a Grunt. Lol
